Who we are

RULA was founded by members of the Lebanese diaspora who grew up in Lebanon and watched from afar for many years as our mother country suffered under social, economic, and political headwinds. During our years of growing up in Lebanon, we witnessed its vast diversity and tolerance and we were embraced by the kindness and generosity of its people. We walked the streets and alleys of Beirut for hours discussing life, our fears and anxieties, our hopes and dreams. We remember those dreams, and we strive to give back to the community that nurtured us.

Our group formed in the aftermath of the Beirut port explosion. We seek to address the immense humanitarian needs of those impacted directly or indirectly by the explosion. We have no financial interests, we receive no income, nor promote any products, merchandise, or commercial companies, and have no political agenda. We are volunteering our time and efforts as a sense of duty to give back to Lebanon. Members of this organization have no religious or political affiliation to any existing groups or parties in Lebanon.

Rula is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN 86-1469799).
